David was born in Iceland in 1968.

Graduated from Florida Institute of Technology in 1993 with a BSC in Business Administration – Marketing. Being brought up in the industry his real Aviation Career started in 1994 when he joined Air Atlanta Icelandic as an Supervisor Ground Operations.

From 1994-1998 David held various positions such as; Station Manager Saudi Arabia, Madrid, New York, Manchester, Project Manager for the B747 worldwide until relocating to Iceland as Manager Ground Operation position which he held until 2001 when he resumed the responsibilities of VP Sales and Marketing. David founded Avion Capital Partners in late 2009.

 

Halldor Hafsteinsson

Halldor was born in Iceland 1970.

He Graduated from the University of Iceland 1995 with a degree in Finance and Accounting. He taught accounting on his senior year and held the position of president of NESU (Association of Nordic Business students) on his senior year

Halldor begun his aviation carrier in 1995 in Finance department of Air Atlanta Icelandic as a Finance Manager on outstations but soon moved to Air Atlanta’s Head office as Director Treasury.

Halldor spent some years in the banking community before rejoining Air Atlanta in 2002 as Director Finance and Administration and headed the Finance department during the purchase of Shannon MRO, Excel Airways among other major milestones in Air Atlanta’s history.

Halldors banking experience includes working on the Treasury desk where he worked on derivatives products and FX trading. Halldor Later joined Landsbanki as Senior Manager Aviation Finance and worked on various aircraft financing transactions.

Halldor Hafsteinsson was the Director Finance and Business development of Avion Aircraft Trading until he founded Avion Capital Partners in late 2009.  

 

 

Gardar Forberg

Joined Avion Capital Partners in 2010.

Gardar has worked in the world of aviation since 1996. After a military officer education in the German Army he started his career in aviation as an operations officer with Air Atlanta Icelandic in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During the years 1998 to 2001 he worked as Project Manager in Madrid, Spain where he was in charge of a large wet lease operation for Iberia Airlines. In 2001 he became the Marketing Manager of Air Atlanta Icelandic and in 2002 their Commercial Director. In 2004, Gardar moved to a sister company, Islandsflug Airlines, as Deputy Managing Director. With the eventual merger of Islandsflug and Air Atlanta Icelandic in 2005 he became their Vice President Sales.

In 2006, Gardar was appointed President and CEO of the Icelandair Group owned Latvian Airline SmartLynx (formerly Latcharter). Gardar just concluded a one year assignment working on civil aviation issues at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

Gardar is a member of the Iceland Crisis Response Unit and has been deployed on a number of NATO missions:

In 2003, Gardar was the Chief of Air Movement and Commander at Pristina Airport for a period of six months.

In 2005, he commanded Kabul International Airport for a period of 3 months.

In 2006, he commanded an Icelandic Military Liaison and Observation Team out of Chagcharan PRT in Ghor Province Afghanistan.
